How to have fun repeating Outfits – Chambray Shirt + White Pants

Have you faced or come across the stigma of repeating outfits? In this post see how you can have fun repeating outfits using a Chambray Shirt and White Pants and also help save the environment.

I could write a generic caption here like ‘Fashion changes, but style endures.’ – Coco Chanel and let this post be, but let’s talk about what else endures: landfills, microfibers, and microplastics.

According to a great post by @ssustainably_ ‘Many people on social media don’t want to be seen wearing the same outfit twice-or in public. 1-6 people will not rewear something that’s been seen on social media. “Influencer culture” has an impact on that, as well.

I believe this because I’ve done this too.

How can we adopt a ‘rewear mindset’?
🐳Track your wears
🐳Find new ways to wear a piece
🐳Try a style challenge
🐳Reduce trend buying
🐳Find your style profile
🐳Add new layers to your outfits to spice it up

Rewearing what you already own is the most sustainable thing to do.

The stigma around repeating outfits is real.

If you google repeating outfits most of the articles talk about repeating outfits ‘without being noticed’. Papps frequently call out celebs for repeating their outfits. It is so freaking wasteful to diminish the versatility of a gorgeous piece of clothing just because it was on your social media feed.

I propose a #threeoutfitchallenge. Next time you purchase a piece of clothing, think of a minimum of THREE complete outfits that you can create with it. If you can’t picture it, simply don’t buy it.

I think the most versatile piece in your wardrobe would be your Chambray shirt. So many ways to wear it. Dress up, dress down, everything works.
Though its summer, it still gets a little chilly here and it doubles up as a light layer.

I started this blog to share daily outfits, but the lockdown situation so didn’t help as I was in my pajamas most days! Hoping to share more of these now that I’m back to leaving the house every day.
